Digital Product Passport pricing and costs
What a Digital Product Passport costs: billed in francs, euros or dollars, monthly, cancel any time, with a free trial and no credit card.
What a Digital Product Passport costs
A Digital Product Passport at Transpareo costs a fixed monthly amount. No set-up fee, no consulting hours, no fee per scan. You pick a plan by the number of passports, and nothing else.
The best way to see what you get for it is to look: the demo website is a complete site, the kind every customer gets, and the Transpareo Time Machine shows a finished passport that any browser verifies on its own.
Every plan carries the full feature set, from your own domain to translation into 40 languages. Products, components, images and documents you create as many as you need, through the API too; only the passports are counted. Before that you try it free, without a credit card.
You pay for published passports only.
Prices are per month. Move up whenever you need more passports.
Monthly subscriptions with an 8-day trial.

How the amount on your invoice comes about
You pay in your own currency, at a fixed monthly amount.
Billed in your own currency
In Switzerland and Liechtenstein you pay in francs, in the rest of Europe in euros, and outside Europe in US dollars. The amount in your currency is the amount on your invoice.
Value added tax
Customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein pay including 8.1% VAT. Business customers in the EU with a valid VAT number are invoiced net under the reverse-charge procedure. Outside those countries we invoice net and you account for the tax at home.
Monthly, cancel any time
Monthly billing is the only option - no annual plans, no payment up front, no minimum term. You cancel to the end of the current billing period.
A beta price that stays
The beta is our offer to early customers. The beta rebate is included in the prices shown, and the price you sign up at stays your price for as long as you keep the plan - long after the beta has ended. The same holds for a coupon.
What your plan covers
The plan sets the number of product passports. Everything else is included, with no per-unit billing.
Product passports
The plan sets how many product passports your account runs; the largest removes the limit altogether. Products, components, images and documents do not count towards it: on the smallest plan you already run Transpareo as your product data system today, and publish passports when you want to, not only when you have to.
No fee per view
There are no additional charges for traffic, storage or visitors. Plans assume fair use within the respective category.
Changing plan
Moving to a larger plan takes effect at once and the time already paid for is credited. Moving to a smaller one takes effect at the end of the current billing period - the running month is paid for and is not refunded.
Several workspaces, one invoice
One account runs several workspaces - a separate domain, branding and database per brand or subsidiary. Billing is pro rata and consolidated through the single account, which makes administration considerably simpler.
Always free
None of this needs a subscription.
Transpareo Time Machine
Our open-source renderer Transpareo Time Machine is published under the GPL v3 and can be self-hosted by anyone: a static bundle on any web server. Should you ever leave Transpareo, your customers keep the passport view they know, including the look you configured.
Verifying any passport
Anyone can verify any published passport, without an account: the issuer and platform signatures and the version chain, in the browser from the loaded bytes and the public keys. The DPP verification is open to all.
Checklists and guides
The provider checklist and the ESPR guide are freely available, without registration and without an email address.
Schools and non-profits
We provide Transpareo free of charge to educational institutions and social organisations. Write to us briefly about what you do.
Pricing and billing
Is a passport worth it before my product group is due?
Yes, and you do not even have to publish a passport for that: on the smallest plan you already keep your products, components, images and documents without limit, and publish passports as soon as you want to give consumers the transparency they demand, long before any duty applies. What a passport costs against the fines it avoids is worked through in the cost of a DPP against the sanctions. When your product group is due is in the industries reference. And if you are still comparing providers, the provider checklist names the 30 criteria that matter.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a free trial with the full feature set. No credit card required. After the trial you decide whether to continue the subscription.
What happens to my price when the beta ends?
Nothing. The price you signed up at continues for as long as you keep your plan. Only when you change plan does the then current price of the new plan apply. A coupon likewise stays attached to the plan until you switch.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes - and this matters to us: we tie nobody to Transpareo. The term is always one month; you cancel at any time to the end of the current billing period, with no minimum term and no notice period. You lose nothing by leaving either: before cancelling you export all your data in full via API or CSV.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Payments run through Stripe - credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), SEPA direct debit, Apple Pay and Google Pay. On signing and on each monthly renewal an invoice is issued automatically and settled immediately through Stripe.
Transpareo serves business customers only (B2B). There are no additional fees for traffic, storage or visitors; plans assume fair use within the respective plan category.
Can I run several brands or sectors separately?
Yes. Within one account you run each brand or sector as its own workspace - strictly separated, with its own domain, its own branding and its own database, billed together through one account. If you want separate billing accounts, create several independent Transpareo accounts instead, each with its own plan and its own invoice.
Are there free accounts for social organisations and educational institutions?
Yes. We provide access to Transpareo free of charge to social organisations, schools and universities - so that they too can document products transparently and work with real Digital Product Passports in teaching. Write to us briefly about what you are committed to, and we will cover the usage fee.
